Staff at Hidden Hills Elementary have designed a behavior matrix which divides rules into three categories: rules that aim to promote (a) a safe school environment; (b) healthy and socially responsible behavior; and (c) a positive school climate based on caring, consideration, and respect. The behavior matrix lists rules by location on school grounds. The contents of the behavior matrix are communicated to students and parents early in the school year and staff remind students about the behavior matrix throughout the year using colorful posters, feedback, and structured lesson plans.
