Dropout Prevention

Each year more than half a million young people drop out of high school. To best help students at risk stay on the path to graduation schools need to implement a data system that is robust enough to identify students who are struggling, link these students with adult advocates, provide supports to improve student's academic and social/behavioral skills, create personalized learning environments, and ensure that students are receiving rigorous instruction that builds their skills and connects to real world opportunities.

To learn more about the research underlying these practices, view the IES Practice Guide, Dropout Prevention.
